Where to stay - Lapad or Old Town? 10 years ago Save I'm a single lady who will be arriving off an eight day Sail Croatia sailing trip from Split and planning to spend 3 nights in Dubrovnik in mid-June.

Would you recommend: (1) staying in Old Town to be in the middle of everything; (2) staying in Lapad because it's not as far and/or is cooler than I think; or (3) staying in Cavtat for a different experience (and to be close to the airport). In case it matters, I'm a 40 y/o solo female.

Lapad is a residential suburb of Dubrovnik that lies about 3km northwest of the Old Town.The interior is mostly green and calm with plenty of attractive sea views and some excellent restaurants.There's a tremendous amount of accommodation in Lapad including hotels, apartments and guesthouses but because it's so residential you don't get the feeling that you're in a tourist ghetto.
